Singer Wayne Lewis, founding member of Atlantic Starr, dies at 68

Singer Wayne Lewis, who was also a founding member of the band "Atlantic Starr," has died.

According to the New York Post, Atlantic Starr formed in 1976 in White Plains, New York, founded by the Lewis brothers, drummer Porter Carroll Jr., bassist Clifford Archer, and flutist Joseph Phillip. 

Early members also included singer Sharon Bryant and horn players William Sudderth III and Damon Rentie, later replaced by Barbara Weathers and Koran Daniels.

The group debuted in 1978 with hits like "Stand Up" and "With Your Love I Come Alive," and later released popular songs including "Circles," "Secret Lovers," "Masterpiece," and their chart-topping hit "Always."

Originally signed to A&M Records, they later moved to Warner Bros. and eventually worked with several labels. Their latest album, "Metamorphosis," came out in 2017. They also made a cameo on the soap "Another World" in 1992.
